BURT'S BEES Natural Acne Solutions

BURT'S BEES Natural Acne Solutions

I bought this when it was 50% off (more or less Php 545.00)

The smell strongly reminds me of orange flavored medicine for some reason.

I've been using it for almost a month now and it has helped in moderately preventing some zits to come out. However, if you need some heavy duty toner, I don't think this would be enough.

Again with the packaging, appearance wise, it looks sleek and nice. However, the cap has the tendency to loosen up. There was this one time where I inadvertently shook the container and I could already feel some product spilling out of the sides of the neck of the container.

REVLON Colorburst Lip Butter in Pink Truffle

REVLON Colorburst Lip Butter in Pink Truffle

Revlon Lip Butters have a very wide color range so everybody will surely find a shade suitable for themselves.

This retails for about Php 525.00. It's a bit pricey considering that it's just a tinted lip moisturizer.

I have an issue with the packaging. The bottom is too tiny. I have a hard time gripping the bottom in order to remove the cover.

With regard to the moisturizing factor, this definitely delivers! However, it doesn't stay too long on the lips and reapplication is necessary especially after eating or drinking.

Because they promise to moisture the lips, the bullet itself can be quite soft most especially during hot and humid days. It may cause smearing or even breaking. I haven't experienced mine breaking but it could be a possibility given the texture of this.

The pigment of this is sheer but buildable. For a lip moisturizer, I'm impressed with its pigment. I also want to try the other bolder shades which are more opaque.

This shade is underrated. I've encountered very few reviews of pink truffle. I like this shade because it gives a nude yet wearable color on the lips. It's perfect for school most especially when you're in a rush and you don't have a mirror to use when applying it.

NYX Stick Blush in Hibiscus

                              NYX Stick Blush in Hibiscus

Even if this is a stick blush, it doesn't dry out the skin. In fact, when applied, it has this mousse-like texture.

I often use a little of this and afterwards set it with powder. The pigment is good. The one I have is a beautiful dusty rose shade.

However, the staying power isn't that great. After 2 hours, you won't be left with anything on your cheeks.

This sells for around Php 280.00.

It's a shame that the staying power sucks. The product itself blends naturally on the skin and has good color pay off.

H&M Lipgloss

H&M Lipgloss

I have about 3 of this kind, but I gave the two away.

Somebody gave this to me as a gift together with some body spray. This is a mini lipgloss which holds so much product.

I love that it is not heavy or sticky on the lips. The nude shade is also very nice.

There is no glitter, but it does contain some shimmer which is enough to give the lips a nice glow.

It can be worn alone but I prefer putting a nude/mauve lipstick first, then layering this over.

I wonder if this product is still out in the market and if they have it in full size. I would love to get that!

ETUDE HOUSE Happy Teatime Aloe Tea Cleansing Cream

ETUDE HOUSE Happy Teatime Aloe Tea Cleansing Cream

I don't quite recall the exact price. I think it's around Php 150.00.

It's got a nice, fresh scent that stays a bit on the face.

This is a cold cream which functions as a make up remover.

What I usually do is lather this on my face and let it sit for 5 minutes so it can break down the make up residues. I then wipe it off gently with facial tissue paper. After this, I'd still wash my face and use toner. I would also use another product to remove make up around my eyes.

I would say that it does a good job in removing regular make up (i.e. powder, foundation, blush), but definitely NOT mascara/eye liner/water proof products. I've tried countless of times putting some on my eyelids to get rid of eyeshadow, but I always end up getting a blurry vision... plus a dirty lid still.

My complaint with this is that it comes in a tub. If you've noticed, I cropped the picture above so that what you can only see it the inside/the product itself.

The mouth of the container was just WAY TOO dirty. Imagine having to dip your fingers inside in order to scoop the product. I share this with my mom so you could just imagine how many germs and bacteria are in there. It's not hygienic at all.

NICHIDO Tru Lashes

NICHIDO TRU LASHES

A word of caution, this is the only brand of eye lash glue I've ever tried.

After a long time of using this, I would have to say that this is a bargain product!

Even if it just costs Php 60.00, this brand has never failed me. My falsies are always in place from start to end. Surprisingly, removing them is also a breeze.

This has lasted me FOREVER. The formula is also great as it does not dry too fast or too slow.

My only complaint would be the packaging. As you can see, the product is inside a mini tube that has this sort of tight cap which also serves as the applicator. The rim of the cap can accumulate some of the product, making it a bit difficult to open.

Since the bottle is so tiny, it can easily tip from all directions. That's certainly not helpful especially when you're just a beginner and you want to make sure you get your falsies in line.

If not for the packaging, I'd give this product full marks. Shout out to Nichido!

MAYBELLINE Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Black

MAYBELLINE LASTING DRAMA GEL EYELINER IN BLACK

This is my second Maybelline gel eyeliner. I first bought the brown shade. Now, I don't know exactly if there's a change in the formula but I don't remember the brown gliding as smooth as the black. One thing worth mentioning is that the brown one says it was made in Korea, while this one's made in China. I also had the brown one for well over 2 years and the brush that came with it has a more coarse texture compared to the one that came with the black. Again, I am not certain if the brushes were the same to begin with since it has been ages since I bought the brown one.

I will still make a review on the brown one and link this to that.

I am very in love with this! (compared to the brown one!) The staying power is also great. It lasted me for 10 hours without any smudging.

Same container with the brown one.

The pigment is very good and dries to a matte black.

As you can see, it's very pigmented. A lot of people would compare this to MAC Fluidline in Backtrack. (I wouldn't know I don't have one!)

This sells for Php 450.00 which is cheap considering that this will last you FOREVER.

The tip of this is stiff yet smooth, allowing for more control. The one that came with the brown one has a different texture. The bristles are shorter and look like they're better for smudging. The tip isn't so tapered unlike this one. (I'm not sure if the brush of the brown one was really like that to begin with or it only became like that because I was using it for a long time without washing it!)

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

NYX SOFT MATTE LIP CREAM

I reach for these a lot.

Let me explain why there's a weird looking container mixed there. One thing I hate about NYX products in general, most especially this line, is the BAD packaging. I'm a generally careful person but sometimes, I do get a little clumsy. This thing rolled over and broke. I had to transfer the product in another container to save it.

The shades from left to right: Stockholm, Istanbul, Antwerp, Adis Ababa, Amsterdam and Sao Paolo (the one in the weird container).

It's a shame because my favorite out of the bunch is Sao Paolo (the one that friggin broke).

These dry to a matte finish. They are very pigmented too.

Picture above is Stockholm. This is a great nude shade. There aren't a lot of nude shades that work for my NC40 skin tone so I like this a lot.

This one's Istanbul. I would have to say that this looks weird on me. The texture isn't that good also. Its got blue undertones and they dry/feather really fast. It would be advisable to put lip balm under or lip gloss over.

This one's antwerp. This is a coral shade. Very pretty.

Adis ababa is a shocking fuchsia pink. Very beautiful and pigmented.

Amsterdam is a dark cherry red shade. I use this to stain my lips as these are wildly pigmented.

The last of the bunch is, sadly, my favorite Sao Paolo. Look at the poor thing. It's a redish-pinkish, bright berry shade.

Here's the swatch from left to right: Stockholm, Istanbul, Antwerp, Adis Ababa, Amsterdam and Sao Paolo (the one in the weird container).

Stockholm, Istanbul, Antwerp, Adis Ababa, Amsterdam and Sao Paolo (the one in the weird container).

The shades are named according to the capitals of different countries.

If there's one thing I like about the packaging, it's how the color of the container is very true to its shade.

OVERALL

These are very cheap, amazingly pigmented lip creams that stay for a decent 4 hours. I like these more than the round lip sticks or the matte lip sticks NYX offer. They sell for about Php 250.00 each.

LACURA Eyeshadow and Lipstick

LACURA EYESHADOW AND LIPSTICK

This product was a very pleasant surprise.

A friend of my mom gave this to me as a gift. Not being familiar with the brand, I didn't think it would perform well.

LACURA, as it turns out, is a drug store brand in the US.

I love the packaging of this. It's gunmetal and appears to be very sturdy.

The two eye shadow palette includes a double ended sponge tip applicator. There is also a mirror that comes with it.

When I swatched the two eye shadows, man was I shocked! Both were very pigmented, as you can see from the pictures below. Even the white showed up very well.

Both eyeshadows have some shimmer and NO fall out. The staying power is awesome as well!

They blend very easily.

The twin eyeshadow comes with a lipstick with the same gunmetal packaging. Very solid and impressive.

The lipstick doesn't melt in this hot and humid weather.

There's no indicated shade name, only a number. (200) It says here that it's made in Germany.

The shade is a nude-mocha sheer lipstick which is very hydrating.

It has some glitters, just enough to create shine.

It glides on easily and has decent staying power.

The color is a great match for the twin eyeshadow.

-I would LOVE to try their other products, i.e. blush, foundation etc-
